Obituary of Cheryl Black Gregory

Funeral services for Mrs. Cheryl Black Gregory, age 40, will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at the First United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Dwight Fulton, Rev. A.J. Fulton, and Rev. Joey Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow in Hughes Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday at Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Gregory, a homemaker and a resident of Bastrop, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2010 at Ochsner Medical Center. Mrs. Gregory enjoyed scrapbooking, playing Bunko with her friends, and traveling with her family. She was previously a substitute teacher at Beekman High School and formerly employed at the Optique for over twelve years. Mrs. Gregory was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Troy and Lucille Black; and maternal grandfather, Larkin "Duck" Pierce. Mrs. Gregory is survived by her husband, Shelby Gregory; parents, Bobby Glen Black and Marilyn Pierce Black of Mer Rouge, LA; maternal grandmother, Bessie Pierce of Leaksville, MS; one son, Ty Larkin Gregory of Bastrop, LA; three sisters, Becky Clark Green and husband Terrell of Leaksville, MS, Eileen McIntyre Jenkins and husband Steve of Monroe, LA, Teresa Black Rawls and husband Ronald of Rayville, LA; four nephews; three nieces; and one great niece. Pallbearers will be nephews, Neal Rawls, Ryan Rawls, Chad Rawls, and friends, Denton Clark, Keith Riles, and Lee McKenzie. Condolences may be sent to www.goldenfh.com.
