Obituary of Dorothy Anne Norsworthy George

Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Anne Norsworthy George, age 82, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, July 30, 2010 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Jo Ann Cooper officiating. Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. George, a resident of Collinston, LA, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Morehouse General Hospital. She was a retired owner of Northeast Louisiana Telephone Company. Mrs. George was a member of Reily Memorial Methodist Church and the Collinston Garden Club. She was in charge of the cleanest city contest for over 20 years and enjoyed playing bridge with her bridge group. Mrs. George is preceded in death by her husband, William Hale George and her parents, Alton and Dee Norsworthy. She is survived by her son, Mike George and wife Rose Anne of Collinston, LA; brother, Bill Norsworthy of Collinston, LA; and three grandchildren, Erin George of Baton Rouge, LA, Christine George of Baton Rouge, LA, and Douglas George of Baton Rouge, LA. Serving as pallbearers are: Tim Harkness, Jim Harkness, Wayne Reily, Ross Reily, Butch Holloway, Douglas George, Garrett Sanders and Dustin Jarrell. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society.
