Obituary of James N. Pittman

Funeral services for Mr. James N. Pittman, age 85, of Bastrop, LA, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 5, 2010 in the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Post officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Thursday at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Pittman, a retired lab technician, active member of American Legion Post 51 and member of the Baptist Faith, passed away August 2, 2010 in Bastop. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, having served on the Hospital Ship, Marigold, in the Philippines. Mr. Pittman loved rock hunting, making jewelry, fishing and hunting. He attended Southwestern University for five years. Mr. Pittman is survived by one sister, Bonnie Holmes of Tallulah, La; one brother Johnnie Price of Monroe, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Lois Parker Pittman.
