Graveside funeral services for Mr. Dave Laing, age 87, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Stevenson Cemetery with Bro. Jerry Spykes and Bro. Daylon Helbling officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1 p.m. Thursday at Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. Laing, a resident of Bastrop, passed away Monday, August 2, 2010. Mr. Laing a retired retailer, was a devout Christian, and a member of First Church of God. He was a United States Veteran serving in the Army during World War II. Mr. Laing is preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Laing and infant son, David Malcolm Laing.
Mr. Laing is survived by one daughter, Emily Gail Goodman and husband James of Heartland, TX; one son, Mike Lucas and wife Susan of Alexandria, LA; three sisters, Opal Rogers of False Church, VA, Rose Mary Eubanks of Bastrop, LA, Mary Alice Stewart of Bastrop, LA; and one granddaughter, Amanda Gail Goodman.
