Obituary of Jeff Laing

Funeral services for Mr. Jeff Laing, age 39, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, August 12, 2010 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Meriweather officiating. Interment will follow in Carter-Nicholson Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5-9 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Laing, a City of Bastrop employee, passed away Monday, August 9, 2010. He was a resident of Bastrop. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Marvin Laing, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Jessica Kitchens Laing; daughters, Alexis Laing of Bastrop, LA, Destiny Yates Laing of Bastrop, LA; son, Tyler Laing of Bastrop, LA; granddaughter, Savannah Yates Laing of Bastrop, LA; mother, Barbara Porter of Bastrop, LA; father, Marvin Laing of Farmerville, LA; maternal grandparents, Martha and Buck Porter of Bastrop, LA; paternal grandmother, Alma Laing of Bastrop, LA; brother, Robert Laing and wife Roslyn of Farmerville, LA; step-sister, LaDonna Sandifer of Dallas, TX; step-brother, Larry Whisenhunt of Paso, CA; a niece, Tasha Manning; and a nephew, Robert Laing, Jr. Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Porter, Charles Owens, Brandon Kitchens, Michael Kitchens, Dillian Johnson and Jerry Clack.
