Obituary of Maxine Rowland Crumley

Maxine Rowland Crumley, 83, a resident of Bastrop, LA, died Friday, August 27, 2010 after a short illness. She touched many lives in the course of her 83 years. She will be missed by her family and friends, but she has received her heavenly reward. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, August 30, 2010 at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Revs. Wayne Clegg and Daniel Haigwood officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home.
Mrs. Crumley, a homemaker and member of the Church of God of Prophecy, spent much of her time reading, studying, and ministering to others. She was a Lay Minister, Sunday School Teacher and a lover of music. She received great joy in singing and hearing her children play and sing. She loved her husband, children, and grandchildren with all of her heart, and wanted most of all, for all of her family to one day be in heaven together.
Mrs. Crumley is survived by her husband of 66 years, Jack D. Crumley; five children, Dempsey Crumley and wife Margie of Prescott, AR, Danny Crumley and wife Pat of Bastrop, LA, Judy Spikes and husband Fales of Elk City, OK, Jackie Blackmon and husband Terry of Covington, LA and Cathy Pruitt and husband Leon of Gulfport, MS. She has ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren who will indeed carry on her legacy.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Buck and Beatrice Rowland; son, P.J. Crumley; brother, Robert Rowland and a sister, Genie Jones.
Serving as pallbearers are: Eric Blackmon, Keith Spikes, Chad Pruitt, Derek Pruitt, Steve Whorton and Cody Hamilton.
Honorary pallbearers are: Dr. Jack Noble and Charlie Wilson.
