Funeral services for Mr. Norman McCrary, age 70, of Bastrop, La. are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, November 19, 2006 at Central Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Britt Dupree officiating. Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery. Mr. McCrary passed away Friday, November 17, 2006 at Morehouse General Hospital. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday, November 18, 2006 at Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. McCrary was a retired employee of International Paper Company with 44 years of service. He was a member of Central Missionary Baptist Church for over 50 years and was an avid white perch fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Margie McCrary; daughter, Renee Streeter & husband Jeffery of West Monroe, LA; sons, Randy McCrary & wife Cheryl of Bastrop, Ronnie McCrary & wife Kathy of Bastrop; sister, Opal Morris of Duncan, OK; brother, Cecil McCrary of Greenville, MS; grandchildren, Casey McCrary, Jacob McCrary, Courtney Martin & husband Corey, Justin McCrary, Kelsea McCrary, Grace Streeter, and Chloe Streeter.
Pallbearers will be Justin McCrary, Jacob McCrary, Bill Gregory, Bobby Priest, Tommy Smith and Darrell White. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Carlton Osteen and Don "Pot" Higginbotham.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Central Missionary Baptist Church.
