Funeral services for Mrs. Janice C. Teel, 83, of Bastrop, La. are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, November 20, 2006 at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Benge officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Teel, a homemaker and member of First United Methodist Church, passed away Friday, November 17, 2006 at Morehouse General Hospital.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; J.D. and Wanda Teel of Swartz, LA, Steve and Cindy Teel of West Monroe, LA; four grandchildren, Don Teel of West Monroe, LA, Ryan Teel of Plano, TX, Lindsay Teel of West Monroe, LA, Peyton Teel of Calhoun, LA; great grandson, Jonathan Teel, United States Navy- Yokasuka, Japan; sister, Christine Waits of Arcadia, LA; brother and sister in-law, Shelby and Olene Teel of Lewiston, ID and a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Mrs. Teel is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Teel; parents, T.L. and Claudie Cowser; sister, Nobie Harmon and four brothers, Joyce, Moody, Weldon and Harvey Cowser.
Serving as pallbearers will be Peter Branch, Roger Worthy, Doug Ramer, Doug Nations, J.W. Yeldell, Ronald Eubanks. Nephews of Mrs. Teel will be honorary pallbearers.
The family would like to extend our thanks to Dr. Cox and his staff, the nurses and staff on the 2nd floor at Morehouse General Hospital,Dr. Smith, and the staff at Bastrop Rehabilitation Hospital. A special thank you to Diane Ramer, you are an angel. To her church family at First United Methodist and her other dear friends, the family will forever be grateful for the love and care you have extended to her over the years.
Mother was always reaching out to her family and others. We feel truly blessed to have had her tender loving care over the years. We know now she is at rest with the other saints in Heaven.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday at Golden Funeral Home.
The family asks that memorials be made to the Louisiana Methodist Children's Home in Ruston.
