Obituary of Felton Polk

Funeral services for Mr. Felton Polk, 88, are scheduled for 2 p. m. Monday November 1, 2010 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Woody Reeder officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday October 31, 2010, from 5 p. m. until 9 p. m. at Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. Polk, a resident of Bernice, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2010, at the home of his daughter. He was retired after 24 years as superintendent of maintenance at Morehouse General Hospital. He also worked for McMullan Refrigeration Service for almost 19 years. Mr. Polk was a past Vice Commander of the American Legion Post 51 and United States Army veteran of World War II serving in the South Pacific.
Mr. Felton Polk is survived by his daughters, Carolyn Wyatt and husband Dan of Sterlington, LA, Dana Bradshaw and husband Dicky of Bastrop, LA; sister, Helen Stoviak of Alexandria, VA, three grandchildren, Kenneth Dan Wyatt, Jason Eric Wyatt, and Kimberly Murphy Watts, 11 great grandchildren, Meagin Wyatt, Jaelin Wyatt, Katelyn Wyatt, Cathen Wyatt, Jacob Wyatt, Kyle Wyatt, Dyln Wyatt, Hunter Wyatt, Alyasa Watts, Gavin Aulds, Ashton Aulds, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Polk is preceded in death by his wife Joan Polk; grandson, Chad Aulds; parents, S. T. and Lavassa Polk, a brother Rothel Polk and special friend Alma Laing.
Serving as pallbearers will be John Laing, Marvin Laing, William Wyatt, Richard Ellis, William Jones, and Dicky Bradshaw.
