Funeral services for Ted Pollard, M.D., 88, of Bastrop, LA, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 15, 2010 in the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Mollie McGee officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Dr. Pollard, a retired physician with 40 years practice in Bastrop and member of Memorial Methodist Church, passed away Friday, November 12, 2010. He was a graduate of LSU Medical School in 1951. Dr. Pollard was a member of Morehouse Parish Medical and Southern Medical Societies. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Dr. Pollard is survived by his wife, Mary Virginia Bailey Pollard; daughters, Joyce Pollard Townsend and husband Howard of Monroe, LA, Elizabeth Pollard Solomon and husband Ray of Charlotte, NC, Helen Pollard Tubbs of Bastrop, LA, Virginia Pollard Kittredge and husband Jerry of Carrollton, TX; nine grandchildren and three great grandsons. He is preceded in death by his parents, Winfred and Maggie Woodall Pollard and brother, Donald Pollard. Serving as pallbearers will be; Coleman Spann, Heath Holley, Christopher Kittredge, Jon Tubbs, Sean Solomon and Benjamin Kittredge. Honorary pallbearers are: Andy Yelverton, Howard Townsend, Jerry Kittredge, Ray Solomon, Bailey Johnson, Micah Harris and Damon Langford. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 15, 2010 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. The Pollard family requests that memorial contributions be sent to the charity of the donors choice.
