Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Betty Jo Patton, age 79, of Bastrop are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Sunday November 14, 2010 at Old City Cemetery with Bro. Tim Post officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Patton passed away Friday, November 12, 2010 at Lagniappe Nursing Home. She was born June 20, 1931 in Bastrop, LA as the only child of the late Jessie Mae Davidson Little and Ernest Howard Little. She was a graduate of Crossett High School in Crossett, AR. Mrs. Patton married Charles Hale Patton on December 14, 1949. The couple resided the remainder of their 60 years together in Bastrop, LA. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Patton was a devoted wife and mother. She cherished her grandchildren, was a creative seamstress and a gourmet cook. She served in the church nursery for 25 years and was dearly loved by the children of the church. Mrs. Patton is survived by her children, Donna Lynn Defee and husband Robert of Bastrop, TX, Charles Howard Patton and wife Cathy of Monroe, LA, James Robert Patton of Bastrop, LA; four grandchildren, Charles Patrick Defee of Shreveport, LA, Mary Allison Defee Sterner and husband Sean of Houston, TX, Charles Victor Patton and wife Christy of Monroe, LA, David Houston Patton also of Monroe; five great grandchildren, Megan Nicole Defee, Erin Lindsey Defee, Ava Grace Defee, Dylan Alexis Defee and Charles Alexander Patton; one brother-in-law, George Mallory Patton and wife Martha Ann Messinger of Bastrop, LA, sisters-in-law, Lila Patton Wolfe and Nancy Patton Croswell both of Bastrop. She is preceded in death by her devoted and loving husband, Charles Hale Patton, who passed away August 28, 2010 and her parents. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Angel Ministries Network at 409 North 2nd Street, Monroe, LA 71201. Mrs. Patton's family would like to express their gratitude for the many years of special care provided by the staff members of Lagniappe and Premier Hospice.
