Funeral services for Mr. James E. "Jake" Walker, age 87, are scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday December 3, 2006 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Speer officiating. Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Saturday December 2, 2006 at Goldens.
Mr. Walker, a resident of Collinston, passed away Friday December 1, 2006 at Cornerstone Hospital in West Monroe. He was a member of Collinston Baptist Church. He was a retired employee of Stauffer Chemical Plant and a retired Baptist Minister. During the 1930's he was a member of the C.C. Camps. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marie Walker; his parents; two sisters, Gladys Higgins & Era Simpson; and two brothers, John Henry Walker II & Charles Walker.
He is survived by three sons, Joel Walker and wife Annette of Pensacola, FL, Larry Walker of Bastrop, Gary Walker & wife Becky of Monroe; sister, Ethel Hagan of Bastrop; brother and sister-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Willis Walker of Bastrop; nine grandchildren, Carla Perry, Steve Walker, Wade Walker, Mark Walker, Chad Walker, Mindy Walker, Susan Petty, Beth Courson, Janet Crowe; sixteen great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
