Obituary of Margie Eulalia Giles Sims

Graveside funeral services for Margie Eulalia Giles Sims, age 87, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday December 8, 2006 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Paul Solice officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Sims, a resident of Bastrop, passed away Wednesday December 6, 2006. She was a retired employee of the State of Louisiana Welfare Department as a social worker after 26 years. She was a resident of The Arbor and a member of Grace Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Sims; son, Billy Giles Word; brother, James Oliver Giles; father, James Alymer Giles; mother, Mary Louise Payne. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Bernice Word Cunningham of Hamburg, AR; two grandchildren, Billy Word & wife Beverly of Bastrop, Dana Word of Bastrop; five great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter.
