Funeral services for Mrs. Thelma Stevens, 93, of Bastrop are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2006 at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Lynn Townsend officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery. Mrs. Stevens, a homemaker and member of Antioch Baptist Church, was born on August 23, 1913 in Rosefield, La. to the late Mary Anna Zeagler and Champion P. Bailey and William (Bill) Stewart and Annie Floyd Stewart. She passed away Monday, December 25, 2006 at Cherry Ridge Guest Care Center. She is survived by her daughter, Joy Boone and husband Ricky of Bastrop, LA; step daughter, Annette Jackson and husband Charles Ray of Sherwood, AR.; step son, Robert E. Stevens and wife Jo Ellen of Bernice, LA; nine grandchildren, Charles Sawyer and wife Nancy of Bastrop, LA, Angela Chaffin of Monroe, LA, Amelia Adams and husband Curt of Monroe, LA, Conway Boone, Tammy Pilgreen and husband Johnny of Dubach, LA, Brenda Hammett and husband Gary of ElDorado, AR, Kara Taylor and husband Mike of Spearsville, LA, Eddie Jackson and wife Vickie of Jacksonville, AR, Teri Burch and husband Jamie of Little Rock, AR; twenty one great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two half sisters, Lodie Tullos of Harrisonburg, LA, Daphne Hudson of Pineville, LA and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Stevens is also preceded in death by her husband, Vernon V. Stevens; daughter, Verna Kay Stevens and sisters, Ruby Bailey and Lois Sharp. Serving as pallbearers are: Charles Sawyer, Curt Adams, Robert Vining, R.W. Lloyd, Johnny Pilgreen and Darren Hall. Honorary pallbearers are: Dr. Michael Smith and Jeff McCain. Visitation will be held from 12 noon until service time Thursday, December 28, 2006 at Golden Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the charity of your choice.
