Funeral services for Mr. Jacob Mack Sanders, 93, of Swartz, LA are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2007 at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bros. Harold Thomas and Norwood Shelton officiating. Interment will follow at the Concord Cemetery near Oak Grove, LA.
Mr. Sanders, a retired employee of 30 years with Texas Gas Transmission and faithful member of the Christadelphian Ecclesia in Swartz, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2007 at the Avalon Place Nursing Home. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Mr. Sanders was born in West Carroll Parish on January 9, 1913 to the late Walter and Annie Sanders. He is also preceded in death by brothers, Robert Lee, Percival, Walter Jr. and Amos Sanders; sisters, Abigail Thomas, Leone Heard and Candace Simonson; grandson, Don R. Tyson, Jr. and sons-in-law, Don R. Tyson and Clarke M. Williams, Jr.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Verna Delilah Sanders of Swartz, LA; Maxine Tyson of Swartz, LA, Vicki Husted and husband Billy of Monroe, LA; grandchildren, Tonya Tyson Moore and husband Trace, Tami Tyson Cobb of Monroe, LA, Clarke Mcrae "Trey" Williams, III of Baton Rouge, LA; great grandchildren, Rachel and Emily Moore, Joel Cobb and wife Kristy, Lauren and Garrett Cobb; sister- in-law, Myrtis Sanders of Swartz, LA and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers are: Clarke Mcrae Williams III, Joel Cobb, Garrett Cobb, Trace Moore, Gerald Simonson, Roger Simonson, Henry Newton and Elee Trichel.
Honorary pallbearers are: Mack Thomas, Lonnie Taylor.
Visitation will be held from 12 noon until service time on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at Golden Funeral Home.
