Obituary of Alvin Segars

Funeral services for Mr. Alvin Jim Segars, 90, of Mer Rouge, LA are scheduled for 10 AM Monday, February 26, 2007 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Alexander officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Monroe, LA. Mr. Segars, a retiree from the Ouachita Parish Courthouse Concession Stand after 30 years and member of Hillview Freewill Baptist Church, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2007 at Morehouse General Hospital. He was a member of the Mt. Gerizim Masonic Lodge in Bastrop and was a previous Grand Master of the Masonic Lodge in Monroe. He is survived by one son, Tim Segars and wife Janice of Monroe; three daughters, Barbara Ward and husband Gary of Kansas City, MO, Margaret Brandon and husband Eugene of Monroe, LA, Excell Perkins and husband Joe of Mer Rouge, LA; one brother, George Ed Segars of Hamburg, AR; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren and many great, great grandchildren. Mr. Segars is preceded in death by his wife, Florence Dingler Segars; two sons, John Segars, Joe Denstill and daughter, Penny Segars. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 25, 2007 from 5-8 PM at Golden funeral Home.
