Funeral services for Mr. W. Gene Blake, age 76, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday March 5, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Mr. Blake, a retired International Paper Company employee, passed away Friday March 2, 2007 at Morehouse General Hospital. He was a resident of Bastrop. Visitation will be held Sunday from 5-9 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home with a rosary service scheduled for 6 p.m.
Mr. Blake was a member of the Moose Lodge and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, J. & Lena Blake; brothers, Addis Blake, Hollis Blake, Vance Blake, Reed Blake; sisters, Louise Day, Margie Guin; great grandson, Cody Cason.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Blake; daughters, Lisa Blake of Atlanta, TX, Karen Main & husband Michael of Pine Bluff, AR, Monica Bayless & husband Bobby of Bastrop, Wanda Kindrix of Bastrop, Rosaland Jones & husband Clint of Bastrop; sons, Ronald Blake of Atlanta, TX, Gary Blake of Bastrop, Scott Blake & wife Misty of Atlanta, TX, David Blake & wife Cyndi of Bastrop, James Hall, Matthew Hall & wife Tina of Farmerville, Mark Hall & wife Donna of Bastrop; sister, Ruby Jo Gay of Ringgold, LA; thirty four grandchildren; and twenty three great grandchildren.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
