Obituary of Jimmie Doris Smith

Funeral services for Mrs. Jimmie Doris Smith, 78, of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at First Church of God with Bro. Dalyn Helbling officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Smith was born October 30, 1928 in Bonita, LA and passed away March 10, 2007 at St. Francis North Hospital. She was retired from the office of Dr. Cox and also did volunteer work at Morehouse General Hospital. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter, Karen Pena; granddaughter, Amy Pena; brother, James E. Sisson, Jr and wife Betty; nieces, Jennifer Sisson, Michelle Sisson; sisters in-law, Jean Curtis, Mary Saterfield and husband Clifton; a host of family and a special friend W.B. Holley. She is preceded in death by her husband, Boyd E. Smith, Jr.; son, Michael B. Smith and parents, James Edwin Sisson, Sr. and Eunie Sisson. Visitation will be held Monday, March 12, 2007 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Church of God, 525 E. Madison, Bastrop, La. 71220.
