Obituary of May Delle Irvine

Funeral services for May Delle Knight Irvine, 97, of Bastrop, La. are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, October 8, 2004 at the Golden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Ingram officiating. Burial will be in the Hamburg Cemetery in Hamburg, Arkansas. Mrs. Irvine was born on July 26,1907 in Ashley County, Arkansas to Francis M. (Frank) Knight and Essel Boyd Knight and passed away Thursday, October 7, 2004 at Morehouse General Hospital. She is also preceded in death by her husband Roy Irvine; three brothers, Rudolph Knight and wife Willie Edna Knight, Floyd Knight and wife Ruth McDuffie Knight, Lawrence Knight and wife Mary Knight; two sisters, Audrey Knight (infant) and Erla Knight Garrett and husband Wesley Garrett and a brother in-law, Warner Holland. She is survived by one sister, Annie Knight Holland; two brothers, Glenwood (Glen) Knight and wife Ouida, Norwood (Chic) Knight and wife Marie and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Irvine was a member of Horseshoe Assembly of God Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Mer Rouge Chapter #148. She was awarded a 50 year Golden Certificate in 2002. She devoted most of her adult life to her church and the Order of the Eastern Star organization. She held several positions over the years and was extremely devoted to her christian fellowship. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Friday, October 8, 2004 at Golden Funeral Home.
