Obituary of Douglas Allen Nations

Funeral services for Mr. Douglas Allen Nations, age 56, will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Cherry Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Cal Adams and Rev. Tuck Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Nations, a resident of Bastrop and Co-owner of Glens Motor Parts, passed away Friday, March 25, 2011. Mr. Nations was a member of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church where he was involved with the Television Ministry. He was a Graduate of Bastrop High School, class of 1973. Mr. Nations was preceded in death by his mother, Annette George Nations. Mr. Nations is survived by his father, Glen A. Nations of Bastrop, LA; one sister, Sarah Nations Ellingburg and husband Billy of Bastrop, LA; two nieces, Robyn Ellingburg Landry and husband Jerry of Gonzales, LA, Christy Ellingburg of Gallatin, TN; one nephew, Jim Ellingburg and wife Jennifer of Sterlington, LA; special friends, Steve and Cindy Teel and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Teel, Dale Hindmon, Jim Ellingburg, Jerry Spikes, Gene Hughes and Jerry Landry. Honorary pallbearers will be the Bastrop High School Class of 1973. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday at Golden Funeral Home.
