Funeral services for Dora Gregory Matheny, age 87, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday May 9, 2007 at Central Church of Christ with Mr. Joe Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home.
Mrs. Matheny, a homemaker, passed away Sunday May 6, 2007. She was a resident of Bastrop and a member of Central Church of Christ.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Marshall Matheny, Sr.; son, Thomas Marshall Matheny, Jr.; parents, Sam Gregory, Sr. & Carrie Thompson Gregory; sisters, Dorothy Stokes, Vera Wilson; brothers, Johnny Gregory, Bill Gregory, Roy Gregory, Jimmy Gregory.
She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Matheny Nichols & husband Joe; three sisters, Ada Osborn, Mary Louise Matheny, Ellen Gregory; brothers, Sam Gregory, Jr., Thomas Richard Gregory, Guy Gregory; grandchildren, Alan Nichols, Mark Nichols, Marsha Denise Matheny; great grandchildren, Sean Nichols, Kevin Nichols, Mitchell Nichols, Phillip Madden, Logan Ray.
Serving as pallbearers will be Alan Nichols, Mark Nichols, Sean Nichols, Kevin Nichols, Mitchell Nichols, Zachary White.
