Obituary of Sr. Musgrove

Funeral services for George Kenneth Musgrove,Sr., 85, resident of Bastrop, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 28,2004, at the Golden Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Butch Goodman and Theron Jones officiating. Interment will be in the Concord Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Musgrove died Friday, March 26,2004 at Morehouse General Hospital. He is a retired employee of International Paper Company. Mr. Musgrove was a member of Concord Primitive Baptist Church. He also enjoyed gardening. Preceded in death by his parents, Mary Catherine and M.E. Musgrove; wife, Mae Irene Thompson; daughter, Teresa Roxanne Barton; great grandson, Trapper John Atkins; daughter in law, Velda Moore Musgrove; Sisters, Pearlene Musgrove Mardis and Genova Faye Musgrove; brothers, Bill Musgrove, Mark Musgrove and Tom Musgrove. Survivors include: three daughters, Catherine Harrell and husband Lloyd of Bastrop,LA, Elizabeth "Lollie" Elkins and husband Larry of Bastrop, LA, Joyce Dupree and husband Shorty of Ville Platte; five sons, George "Sam" Musgrove ,Jr. of Bastrop, LA, Bobby Musgrove of Bastrop, LA, Johnny Musgrove and wife Fredia of Bastrop,LA, Larry Musgrove and wife Elva of Bastrop, LA and Jerry Musgrove and wife Ginger of Collinston, LA.; sister, Geneva Pettis of Bastrop, LA.; and brother, Jake Musgrove of Bastrop,LA.; fifty grandchildren, fiftyeight great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers will be: Kenny Musgrove, David Harrell, Jason Musgrove, Johnny Dewayne Musgrove, Jerry Wayne Elkins and Donald Harrell. Honorary pallbearer will be: Keith Allen Barton, Caleb Harrell and Bruce Musgrove. Visitation will be 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday at Golden Funeral Home, Bastrop, LA.
