Funeral services for Mrs. Edna Rodkey, age 91, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2011 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Justin Akers officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Rodkey, a resident of Shreveport, formerly of Bastrop, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2011. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Rodkey; son, Clark Lynn Rodkey; five sisters, Helen Rodkey, Florence Winters, Vida Reams, Lillian Miscadish, Mabel Kizer; and three brothers, Russell Kizer, Clark Kizer, and LeeRoy Kizer. Mrs. Rodkey is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Turney & husband Preston of Shreveport, LA, Deanna Sheley & husband Leslie of Bastrop, LA; son, Larry L. Rodkey & wife Jaynell of Durant, OK; three sisters, Avonelle Marshall of Gilbert, AZ, Alice Marion of Houtzdale, PA, Arlene Fleck of Phillipsburg, PA; brother, Randall Kizer of Florida; four grandchildren, Lisa Turney, Stephen Turney, Brian Sheley, Edward Rodkey; four great grandchildren, Michael Johnson, Sarah Russell, Kristen Turney, Colin Rodkey; two great great grandchildren, Scarlett Johnson, Brylie Middleton; two step grandchildren, Bruce Knipe, Cynthia Hemesley; three step great grandchildren, Christy Knipe, Jason Hemesley, Nicholas Hemesley; and numerous nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Sheley, Michael Johnson, Edward Rodkey, Bobby Middleton, Nicholas Hemesley, and Jason Hemesley. Honorary pallbearers are Stephen Turney and Paul Hemesley.
