Funeral services for Gene A. Bunch will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 6, 2011, at Maplewood Baptist Church with Rev. Charlie McLean officiating. Interment will follow in Stevenson Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Thursday from 11 a.m. until service time at the church.
Mr. Bunch, a resident of Bastrop and a carpenter, passed away Friday December 31, 2010 at Morehouse General Hospital. Mr. Bunch was a member of Maplewood Baptist Church. He was a loving husband.
Mr. Bunch is survived by his wife, Bobbie Allen Bunch; one daughter, Renee Mills; one son, Jimmy Lamar Schoolfield; four sisters, June Moss, Wanda Pitts, Peggy Russell, Faye Zibilich; one granddaughter, Dewan Jenkins; one grandson, Jimmy Schoolfield; several great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews; and a host of great nieces and nephews.
