Obituary of Sydney Gray

Sydney Florine Alexander Gray, age 85, of Bastrop, left us Tuesday morning, November 23, 2004, to be with her best friend, Jesus, and her beloved husband, Dr. C.B. "Buster" Gray. Her sister, Ethel Wilkes, of Farmerville, was by her side along with the wonderful nurses and aides of Timberlake Healthcare in Farmerville.
Mrs. Gray, a homemaker, member of First United Methodist Church for over 50 years and member of the United Methodist Women, was an avid Louisiana Tech supporter and also a member of the Eastern Star for over 50 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Ward and husband Stan of Mundelein, IL, Janet Koskie and husband Bill of Amarillo, TX; two sisters, Ethel Wilkes of Farmerville, Dr. Pat Elmore of Oxford, MS; brother, Don Alexander of Sterlington; four grandchildren, Lee Ann Reese and husband Jeremy of Atlanta, GA, Christy Ward of Shreveport, Leslie Mueller of Mundelein, IL, Billy Koskie of Baton Rouge; two great grandchildren, Gairett Mueller, age 6, of Mundelein, IL, and Jenna Reese, age 3, of Atlanta, GA.
Mrs. Gray was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. C.B. "Buster" Gray, three sisters, Margaret Hovland, Peggy Ledger, Jackie Alexander, and one brother Paul Alexander.
Pallbearers will be Don David Wilkes, James Wilkes, Andy Wilkes, Sam Ledger, Warren Ledger and Jake Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Wilkes, Don Alexander and Christian Fellowship Sunday School Class.
Visitation will be Friday November 26, 2004 from 5-7 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. The service for Mrs. Gray will be Saturday November 27, 2004 at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with Bro. David Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.
