Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ann Fortune will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2011 at Mer Rouge Road Pentecostal Church with Rev. Cameron Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Bartholomew Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.
Mrs. Fortune, age 52, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2011 at her residence after a long battle with cancer. She was a homemaker and a resident of Bastrop.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Jones and Johnnie Jones.
Mrs. Fortune is survived by her husband, Jimmy W. Fortune of Bastrop, LA; daughter, Barbara Blanton of Mer Rouge, LA; son, Marshall Fortune and wife Katrina of Idabel, OK; eight siblings, Connel Jones of Bastrop, LA, Johnny Jones and wife Nelda of Dublin, TX, Judy McKoin and husband Frankie of Bastrop, LA, Ted Jones and wife Kathy of Bastrop, LA, Gloria Webb and husband Alan of Bastrop, LA, Rebecca Meeks and husband Rodney of Bastrop, LA, Barbara Casteel and husband David of Baytown, TX, Evelyn Hawthorne and husband Robin of Bastrop, LA; five grandchildren, Kayla Weeks, Kalysta Fortune, Nicholas Blanton, Trinity Fortune, Karly Blanton; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Serving as pallbearers will be Lee Fortune, Isaac Smith, Robin Hawthorne, Chris Hawthorne, Kris McKoin, and Jason McKoin. Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Meeks and David Casteel.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday at the church.
