Funeral services for Clara Belle Williamson Freeman, age 97, of Bastrop, will be Sunday Nov. 28, 2004, at 2 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Stewart officiating. Rev. Dennis Anger will sing, Joyce Archer will paly a hymn medley and Mr. Jerry Spikes will lead a prayer. Mrs. Freeman passed away on Friday Nov. 26, 2004 at Morehouse General Hospital. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Officiating at the graveside will be Rev. Karvin Adams. Born June 18, 1907 in Cemenary, MS, to John and Appie Adcock Williamson. Clara was married to Julius Alsworth Freeman, Sr. in 1925. Along with her husband, she was achater member of First Church of God in Bastrop. She was a Sunday School teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, President of the Women's Missionary Society, a choir member and she served actively in the Ambassadors Senior Fellowship. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Julius, her parents, her sons, Julius, Jr. and Joel Ray; her daughters, Judy Diane and Velda Sue; four brothers, Bill, Talmadge, Charlie and Arlie Williamson; two sisters, Clydie Byargeon and Edna Bounds and one grandson, Joel Ray Freeman, Jr. Her family will remember her as a loving, dedicated Christian mother and grandmother. She is survived by two sons and their spouses, Harold Dean Freeman and wife Janet of Bastrop, Frankie Gene Freeman and wife Clara of Crowville; one daughter, Janis Kay Freeman of Bastrop; two daughters-in-law, Bessie Freeman of Bastrop and Shelby Freeman of Vidalia. She was dearly loved by thirteen grandchildren and their spouses, Gary Freeman and wife Phyllis, Alan Freeman and wife Beth, Beverly Freeman Nealy and husband Mike, Angela Freeman Muse and husband Rusty, Pamela Freeman Curtis and husband Jack, Larry Freeman and wife Sigrun, Laura Freeman, Becky Freeman Hall and husband Pat, Patrick Freeman and wife Lisa, Diane Freeman Walker and husband Mike, Gene Freeman and wife Stacy, and Jeff Freeman and wife Vicki. She is also survived by 22 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. The family would like to thank Dr. Carter Cox and the second floor staff of Morehouse General Hospital for their compassionate, loving and professional care. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons. Visitation will be Saturday Nov. 27, 2004 from 6-9 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home.
