Funeral services for Mr. R.L. "Jack" Nugent, age 88, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday June 2, 2007 at Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Bo Horne and Rev. Shane Nugent officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday June 1, 2007 from 5-8 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. Nugent, a resident of Bastrop, passed away Tuesday May 29, 2007 at Morehouse General Hospital. He was a retired Coca Cola employee and a former employee of Medic Pharmacy. He was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church and also a member of the Mt. Gerizim Masonic Lodge.
He is preceded in death by wives, Margaret Alma Rains Nugent, Juanita Cammack Nugent; best friend, Mary Madden; parents, John N. Nugent & Ella Wilder Nugent; seven brothers & one sister.
Mr. Nugent is survived by six children, Rodger Leon Nugent & wife Patsy of Kennesaw, GA, Jack Richard Nugent & wife Priscilla of Fallon, NV, Ronald Ted Nugent & wife Pong of Newport News, VA, Jerry Dee Nugent & wife Gloria of Ruston, Terry Lee Nugent & wife Sandra of Monroe, Margaret Elaine Nugent Taylor & husband Bill Taylor, Jr. of Baton Rouge; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and members of the Masonic Lodge will serve as honorary pallbearers.
