Obituary of Ona Pearl Doles

Funeral services for Mrs. Ona Pearl Hodges Doles, 81, of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at Central Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Britt Dupree officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe. Mrs. Doles, a retired nurse and member of Central Missionary Baptist Church, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2007 at St. Francis North Hospital. She is survived by three daughters, Helen L. McDonald and husband James E. of Wagener, S.C., Bertie Thomas and husband Terry of Bastrop, LA, Sharalou Porter and husband Harold of Woodbury, TN; two sons, Wayne Verrett and wife Cecile Ceylan of Houston, TX, Quincy Doles and wife Patty of Minden, LA; brother, Claudie "Gene" Hodges of West Monroe, LA; twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Mrs. Doles is preceded in death by her parents, James Elbert and Birdie Feazel Hodges; eight brothers and sisters; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers will be Lenard Wayne Verrett, Steven J. McDonald, Daniel W. Thomas, David Glen Doles, Terry Michael Thomas, Charles Goodson and honorary pallbearer will be Jason Sliger. Visitation will be held Monday, June 4, 2007 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Golden Funeral home.
