Funeral services for Mr. Jimmy R. Moore, 76, of Bastrop, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Allan Eppinette officiating. Interment will follow in Mer Rouge Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. Moore , a retired construction worker at Anco International, Baton Rouge and Marine veteran of WW II, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2007 at his residence. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church , a member of the St. Andrew's Masonic Lodge # 256 in Mer Rouge, a member of the Scottish Rite, served the Shriner's as a member of the International Association Legions of Honor and a member of the Circus Board.
Mr. Moore is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marion Faye Nell Berch Moore; daughter, Sandra Moore Womack and husband Joe of Bastrop; son, Bobby Ray Moore of Bastrop; half-sister, Sis Spearman of Vivian, LA; three grandchildren, Ray Womack and wife Melissa of Mars Hill, N.C., Kelly Potter and husband Chad of Bastrop, Samantha Womack and fiance' Justin McKoin of Bastrop; step-grandson, Chris Womack and wife Misty of Ruston, LA; three great grandchildren, Casch Nathan Potter, Raymond Laythe Womack and Michael Allen Mattice.
Pallbearers will be Cliff Hall, Bill Davis, Terry Hagar, Clyde Lee, Louis Mashaw and Joe Platt.
The members of the Barak Shrine Temple will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 5, 2007 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Harmony Baptist Church.
