Obituary of Kathleen Carpenter Kelly

Funeral services for Mrs. Kathleen Carpenter Kelly will be held Sunday, March 18, 2007 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Benge, Sr. and Rev. Ramon Warren officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, March 17, 2007 from 5-7 PM at the funeral home. Born in Bastrop, December 10, 1920 she was the youngest daughter of the late John Fredrick Carpenter, Sr. and Georgia Louise Lefford Carpenter. Mrs. Kelly was a graduate of Bastrop High School, received her degree from B M I Business College and later entered the nursing profession as a Licensed Practical Nurse until her retirement. Mrs. Kelly was a member of the first United Methodist Church and held memberships in the D.A.R. Colonial Dames, Magna Charter, Order of Royal Decent and Order of the Crown. Mrs. Kelly was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Purnell Kelly, Jr.; parents; brothers, John Fredrick Carpenter, Jr., William Thomas Carpenter; sisters, Grace Carpenter Callier, Sue Carpenter Jones and Louise Carpenter Amman. She is survived by those she loved the most, her children, Kathleen Kelly Moorer and husband Earl R. Moorer, Sue Kelly, Thomas Purnell Kelly III and wife Deborah Gregory Kelly, Ann Kelly Eikert and husband Martin "Buddy" Eikert; grandchildren, Kathleen Leigh Moody and Michael Thomas Kelly. Pallbearers will be Earl R. Moorer, Martin "Buddy" Eikert, Phil Carpenter, Seth White, Bob White and Jeremy Adams.
