Funeral services for Mrs. Elsie Lee Porter Becker, age 73, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday June 9, 2007 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. Friday at Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Becker, a resident of Monroe, formerly of Bastrop, passed away June 6, 2007 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center. She was a retired business owner. She is preceded in death by her mother, Bertie Mae Porter; father, Joe "Blackie" Porter Sr., step-father, Ellis "Daddy Red" Andrews; brothers, Carlton Lavelle Porter, Frank Beverly Porter, Joe "Buggs" Porter, Jr., Prentis Lee Porter, daughter, Jeannie Hutson; granddaughter, Sarah Harris Greene; great granddaughter, Julee Faye Hutson; and son-in-law, Tom Ellis. She is survived by her husband, Herman Becker of Bay St. Louis, MS; daughters, Alice Hutson & husband Donnie of West Monroe, LA, Carolyn Ellis Bandy & husband Michael of Bastrop, LA, Jackie Shillow & husband Hilton of Basile, LA, Faye Daigle of New Iberia, LA; son, Doyle Harris & wife Charlotte of Monroe, LA; sister, Barbara Lee Groom & husband Tim of Liberty, MS; twenty grandchildren, Tim, Lori, David, Sean, Cindy, Amanda, Thomas "Bubba", Lisa, Billie, Rhonda, Tammy, Della, Carla, Justin, Kara, Charlie, Chad, Jodie, Stormy, Sheala; and thirty three great grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers will be Myron Nicholson, Bennie Perrault, Victor Fontenot, Thomas Ellis, Joey Hutson, and Jonathan Frost. Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Hutson, David Harris, and Tim Harris.
