Obituary of Bessie Myers Sullivan

Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Myers Sullivan, age 85, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at First United Pentecostal Church with Rev. A.J. Fulton and Rev. Dwight Fulton officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 5-7 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Sullivan, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2011. She was a member of First United Pentecostal Church for 37 years and a resident of Morehouse Parish for over 60 years. She was an extremely compassionate person and was active in nursing home ministries. She loved her family and her church, and was an avid gardener. Mrs. Sullivan is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Ray Sullivan; parents, Walter and Maudie Myers; a daughter, Barbara Ann Sullivan; and one sister and four brothers. She is survived by four children, John Sullivan and wife Ivette of Evans, GA, Shirley Sullivan Lary of Houston, TX, Linda Sullivan Kilpatrick and husband Bill of Houston, TX, Wanda Sullivan Andrews Morris and husband Eddie of South Lake, TX; sister, Essie Hemphill of Darnell, LA; eleven grandchildren, Troy Lary, Robert Sullivan, Greg Lary, Sherry Goble, Jeff Andrews, Mark Kilpatrick, Mike Andrews, Katherine Brupbacher, Michelle Watkins, Spencer Morris, Brooke Morris; twenty-five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
