Obituary of Vergie Lee Thompson Francois

Vergie Lee Thompson Francois entered into heaven with her family at her bedside on Thursday, August 4, 2011. Devoted mother of Ann Miller Walters (husband Lavelle), Carl B. Francois, Sr. (wife Carolyn Elaine), Gene V. Francois (wife Eva), Nancy Diane Finstad (husband Peter) and Dale K. Francois (wife Jan). She was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Francois, daughter, Glenda L. Francois, father, Iley Thompson, mother, Evie Thompson, son in law, Rodney Miller Sr, brother, J.D. Thompson & his wife, Odessa Thompson, brothers in law, C.J. Thompson & James Thomas. Also survived by her sisters Gertrude Thompson, Pearline Brister (husband Homer Dean) & Pauline Thomas. Vergie was born in Sikes, Louisiana on April 27, 1927. She was the loving grandmother of 17, great grandmother of 30, and great-great grandmother of 3. Vergie is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and close friends. She will be sadly missed and will forever be in our hearts. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Vergie's Grandson, Carl B. Francois, Jr. officiating. Interment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. Tuesday at Golden Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Rod Miller, Jr, Carl Rich, Jonathan Francois, Matthew Finstad, Steven Francois, & Gordon Leitz. Honorary pallbearers are William K. Rich III, John M. Rich, Shawn D. Francois, and Joshua K. Finstad.
