Obituary of James Max Gandy

Funeral services for Mr. James Max Gandy, age 87, of Bastrop are scheduled for 3 PM Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at LaPile Baptist Church (Strong, AR) with Rev. Robbie Lawson officiating. Interment will follow in Ebenezer Presbyterian Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. Gandy, a retiree of International Paper Company for 16 years, and member of Meridian Baptist Church in Marion, LA, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Morehouse General Hospital. He served his country as an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Gandy enjoyed farming on his land. He was also an avid fisherman and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Gandy is survived by his twin daughters, Barbara Jean Sisk and husband Rocky of Farmerville, LA, Sandra Wallace and husband Wayne of Bastrop, LA; son, Gary Gandy of Farmerville, LA; sisters, Ann Spigner of Bastrop, LA, Inez Taunton of Strong, AR; brother, Louie Gandy of Alexandria, LA; eight grandchildren; twenty one great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jane Gandy and granddaughter, Mona Lisa Hart.
Pallbearers will be Chris Gandy, Ronald Wallace, Robbie Wallace, Teddy Rodgers, Dwain Rodgers, Butch Gandy, Donald Spigner and Kenny Gandy. Robert Gandy will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 8, 2011 from 5 PM until 9 PM at Golden Funeral Home.
