Obituary of Rachel Medlin Sharbono Gilly

Graveside funeral services for Rachel Medlin Sharbono Gilly, age 76, of Mer Rouge, La., will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 24, 2005 at the Greer Cemetery near Rayville, La. with Rev. Ron Vollmar officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 23, 2005 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Gilly, a retired nurse, member of Mer Rouge Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star, died Saturday, January 22, 2005 at North Monroe Hospital. She is survived by two daughters, Diane Nolan of Mer Rouge, LA and Jennifer Fitch and husband Weldon of Bastrop, LA; three stepsons, Mike Gilly, David Gilly and Dickie Gilly all of Bastrop, LA; one sister, Eula Rainwater of Sterlington, LA; four grandchildren, Lynn McGregor of Swartz, LA, Leigh Adkins of Nashville, TN, Scott Fitch of Baton Rouge, LA and Brice Fitch of Hendersonville, TX; two great grandchildren, Nolan and Chase McGregor. Mrs. Gilly is preceded in death by husbands J.W. Sharbono and Bob Gilly. Honorary pallbearers are her grandsons and nephews.
