Funeral services for Harold Gene Hawkins, age 70, of Bastrop are scheduled for Monday April 12, 2004, at 2p.m. at Cherry Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Dupree officiating. Interment will follow in the Christ Church Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Sunday at Goldens from 6-9 p.m. Mr. Hawkins died Saturday April 10, 2004, at Morehouse General Hospital. Mr. Hawkins was retired from International Paper Co. and was a member and deacon of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Betty Hawkins; mother, Ruth Johnson Hawkins; three sons, Mike Hawkins and wife Jackie, Greg Hawkins and wife Sandra and Andy Hawkins and wife Monica; and nine grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, James Hawkins. Pallbearers will be James Cummins, James Wilson, J.H. Lockwood, Lynn Sanders, Jerry Deville and Huey Evans. Honorary Pallbearers will be the deacons of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church.
