Obituary of Walter Clinton Lewis

Funeral services for Walter Clinton Lewis, age 87, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday June 29, 2007 at Central Church of Christ with Waymon Swain officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6-9 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Lewis, a resident of Bastrop, passed away Monday June 25, 2007 at Northern Medical Center in Ruston. He was born November 10, 1919 in Marion, LA, and in his early working years was a cotton farmer in the lower Dry Bayou area near Wilmot, AR, then retired as an employee of IMC chemical plant in Sterlington. He was a member of Central Church of Christ. He is preceded in death by his parents, William S. & Christian A. Lewis and nine brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Clotelle Lewis; children, JoAnn Laing Lewis of Haughton, John Lynn Lewis of Bastrop, Walter Gregory Lewis & wife Cathey of Monroe; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
