Obituary of Ruby Brewster Courson

Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby Brewster Courson, 96, of Collinston, LA are scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday, July 1, 2007 at Loch Arbor Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Myrick officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Courson, a homemaker and member of Loch Arbor Baptist Church passed away Thursday, June 28, 2007 at Morehouse General Hospital. She is survived by her daughter, Grace Courson Shannon of Collinston, LA; two nieces, Anita Roach Pouge and husband Jack of West Monroe, LA, Mary Ann Copeland and husband Gleason of West Monroe, LA; two nephews, Sammy Brewster and wife Judy of Marion, LA, Gary Brewster and wife Connie of Point, LA; several great nieces and great nephews. Mrs. Courson is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Courson, Sr.; parents, Mr. and Mrs. S.Y. Brewster; grandson, Doug Shannon; two sisters, Grace Brewster Crawford, Jewel Brewster Roach and a brother, S.J. Brewster. Serving as pallbearers are: Jack Pouge, Sammy Brewster, Gary Brewster, Gleason Copeland, Jerry Davis and Allan Massey. Honorary pallbearers are: Marvin Hayes and Charles Roberts. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, June 30, 2007 at Loch Arbor Baptist Church.
