Obituary of Jo Ann Goodwin Bishop

Jo Ann Goodwin Bishop, 82, of Bastrop, LA was born in McGehee, Arkansas on February 28, 1929 and went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday September 17, 2011. Jo Ann loved her Lord and served him faithfully. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bastrop where she made many special friends during her years of dedicated service and leadership in the church. Funeral Services celebrating her life are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday September 20, 2011 at the First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Rosemary Stelz officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home on Monday September 19, 2011. She is preceded in death by her parents George and Ona Goodwin and her husband Frank Bishop, who she loved, adored, and missed everyday. She is survived by her children Pam Bishop Moore and husband Bruce, Alan Bishop and wife Jerri, one brother George Goodwin and wife Peggy, five grandchildren, Andrea Moore Sapp and husband Landon, Stephen Moore, Cole, Cullen, and Christopher Bishop, nieces, Amy Ross and Lisa Culp, great nieces, Camille and Emily Culp, and two of her dearest friends Joann and Jimmy Perry who were very much a part of her family. Her family would like to extend a loving thank you to the nurses and nursing staff on the fifth floor of St. Francis Medical Center for their gentle and compassionate care. Serving as pallbearers will be Landon Sapp, Stephen Moore, Cole Bishop, Cullen Bishop, Christopher Bishop, and James Barron Perry.
