Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Capers, age 90, of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Carter officiating. Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday at Golden Funeral Home.
Mrs. Capers, a retired employee of Hickory Manor Nursing Home and member of Faith Baptist Church, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2011. She loved her Lord and enjoyed working in her yard and reminiscing about old times with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her two daughters, Sybil Barnhill of Bastrop, Darlene Harrell and husband Robert of Bastrop; daughter in-law, Margie Capers of Bastrop; sister, Wilma Gee of Collinston; grand children; Cealy Mitchell and husband Greg, Bill Capers, Gary Barnhill and wife Lori, LeAnn Barnhill, Patty Ray, Missy Balsamo and husband Chris, Patrick Harrell and wife Allison, Donna Whetstone and husband Larkin, Michelle Harrell, Brandon Harrell and wife Shauna; twenty three great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Mrs. Capers is preceded in death by her husband Otis "Peck" Capers; son, Dewey Capers; four sisters; two brothers and a granddaughter, Neice Capers.
Pallbearers will be; Gary Barnhill, Brandon Harrell, Bill Capers, Josh Sisk, Jonathan Roan and Jeff Roan.
