Obituary of Robert William "Yankee" McKane

Funeral services for Mr. Robert William "Yankee" McKane, age 79, of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Cherry Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. McKane, a retired machinist of 45 years with International Paper Company and member of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Lagniappe Health Care Center. He was a U.S. Airforce veteran of the Korean Conflict and a loving father and grandfather. He loved his church. Mr. McKane is survived by three sons, Mark McKane, Kenneth McKane and wife Kathy, Scott McKane and wife Andrea and seven grandchildren, Leigh Ann, Chandler, Nicolas, Connor, Lauren, Matthew and Colton. He is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Ann Kelly McKane. Serving as pallbearers are: Jeff Philley, Jodie Philley, Kelly Shipman, Todd Shipman, Will Kelly and Doug Jones.
