Obituary of Sr. Cook

Funeral services for Charles Pelza Cook, Sr., age 88, of Bonita, La., have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2005 at the Golden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Massey officiating. Interment will follow in the Bonita Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Cook, a retired employee of Texas Gas Company died Thursday, March 3, 2005 at Morehouse General Hospital. He is survived by three daughters, Edna Slack and husband Ray of Monroe, LA, Becky Jones and husband Tommy of Oak Grove, LA, Christy Johnson and husband Kenny of Rayville, LA; one son, Charles P. Cook, Jr. and wife Mickie of Bonita, LA; three sisters Maxine Gates of Hamburg, AR, Ima Jean Ralph of Hamburg, AR and Mary Hogan of Crossett, AR; three brothers, Kenneth Cook of Bastrop, LA, Marion Cook of Bastrop, LA and Glen Cook of Bonita, LA; eight grandchildren, Ann Copeland, Todd Slack, Gwen Coie, Daphne Cochran, Tomette Ratcliff, Holly Johnson, Ashley Cook and Elizabeth Cook; eight great grandchildren, Christina, Nicole, Katie, Hayden, Reid Alan, Bethany, Triston and Jarrett. Mr. Cook is preceded in death by his wife, Frances Cook; daughter, Annette Gilley; granddaughter, Dennitia Rushing; two brothers and one sister. Pallbearers are: Todd Slack, Jeff Ratcliff, Tommy Jones, Kenny Johnson, Ray Slack and Mickie Cook. Honorary pallbearers are: Harry Mayo, Fred Herrington, Jim Breland and Leo McVay. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2005 at Golden Funeral Home.
