Funeral services for Mr. Julius Warren "Dub" Myers, Sr., age 86, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday July 23, 2007 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Ramon Warren officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon from 4-6 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. Myers, a resident of Bastrop, passed away Wednesday July 18, 2007. He was a retired Single Service manager with International Paper Company. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Quarter Century Club, and the American Legion. Mr. Myers was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II having served in the Atlantic and Pacific war zones.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne Dare Larche Myers; infant son, Kenneth Lee Myers; grandson, Dane Garrett Myers; daughter-in-law, Roxanne Myers; brother, J.V. Myers, Jr.; and sister, Eloyce Lee.
He is survived by two daughters, Jincy Anne Endsley & husband Dennis of Shreveport, Vicky Jeanne Ratcliff & husband T.L. of Lake in the Hills, IL; son, Julius Warren Myers, Jr. of Baton Rouge; three grandchildren, Kenneth Luke Myers & wife April, Jamie Claire Pugh, and Katelin Dare Pugh.
Serving as pallbearers will be J. Ross Ogden, Larche Watters, Max Watters, Denis Baker, Luke Myers, and Jim Ogden. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. E.D. Baker, Frank Reitzell, and Eugene Copeland.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's charity of choice.
