Obituary of Franklin E. "Gene" Mitchell

Funeral services for Mr. Franklin E. "Gene" Mitchell, 74, of Bastrop, are scheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Oak Hill Baptist Church with Rev. William Fowler officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Thursday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. service time at the church. Mr Mitchell, an employee of Bumper to Bumper, was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. He also served in the United States Navy in Hawaii. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jane Mitchell and two sisters. Mr. Mitchell is survived by three sons, Bradley Mitchell, Kenneth Mitchell, Gregory Mitchell and wife Cealy, all of Bastrop; two sisters, Fannie Ardizzoni and husband Lenny of Jacksonville, FL, Evelyn Fitzpatrick and husband Pat of Orange Park, FL; two brothers, Everett Mitchell and wife Kay of Virginia Beach, VA, Larry Mitchell and wife Norma of Arizona; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
