Obituary of Agnes Slade

Funeral services for Agnes Jewel Slade, 75, of Bastrop, have been scheduled for 2 PM Sunday, March 27, 2005 at Oak Hill Baptist Church with Rev. William Fowler & Rev. Jerry Stuckey officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Ms. Slade, a homemaker, died Friday, March 25, 2005 at Morehouse General Hospital. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren very much. She was a very active member of Oak Hill Baptist Church until her health would not allow. She was a member of the W.M.U., taught in Bible School for 38 years, and was a member of the prayer group at Oak Hill. Ms. Slade is survived by a daughter, Linda Brodnax & husband Lavon of Bastrop; 2 sisters, Josie Smith of Rayville, and Beatrice Stuckey & husband D. B. of Bastrop; 2 grandchildren, Lavonna Sadler & husband Donald Keith, and Danielle Brodnax; 2 great grandchildren, Kaylee Jewel Sadler and Keith Ray Sadler; and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Slade, her parents, 2 sisters and a brother. Visitation will be Saturday, March 26, 2005 from 5-8 PM at Golden Funeral Home.
