Funeral services for Mrs. Stella Levern Whitaker, 95, of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 10 AM Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. David Chapman officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Whitaker, a retired employee of International Paper Company and longtime member of White Avenue Baptist Church passed away Sunday, August 5, 2007 at Morehouse General Hospital.
She is survived by her daughter, Libby McCorquodale and husband Douglas of Sugarland, TX; son, Charles L. Whitaker and wife Wanda of Bastrop, LA; four grandchildren, Cindy Reaves, Charles Kenneth Whitaker, Kay Whitaker, Kelly Whitaker and six great grandchildren.
Mrs. Whitaker is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Logan Whitaker and a son, Logan Whitaker, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Bradley W. Reaves, Johnny Mac Jones, Charles Kenneth Whitaker, Kelly Gray Whitaker, Michael Warren and bill Warren.
Visitation will be held from 5 PM until 8 PM Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at Golden Funeral Home.
