Obituary of S. A."Bill" Thompson

Funeral services for Mr. S. A. "Bill" Thompson, 87, of Bastrop, are scheduled for 2 PM Friday, March 30, 2007 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Cal Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Sharon Cemetery in Sikes, LA. Mr. Thompson was retired from International Paper Company's Single Service Division and was a member of Cherry Ridge Church of God. He also served in the United States Army during World War II. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marie Thompson; two daughters, Joyce Craig and husband Don of Ashdown, AR, Elaine Hipp and husband Billy of Atlanta, TX; two sons, Sherman Thompson and wife Jan of Bastrop, LA, Ronnie Thompson and wife Beverly of Marion, VA; sister, Bessie Calhoun of West Monroe, LA; eleven grandchildren, Ronni Henrico, Bobbi Erwin, Dee Dee Bush, Dana Craig, Robin Doles, Holly Thompson, Jamie Thompson, Phillip Thompson, Ashley Thompson, Russ Craig, Carla Craig and twelve great grandchildren. Mr. Thompson is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Dola Thompson and sister, Lessie Antley. Serving as pallbearers will be Billy Calhoun, Chuck Lord, D. E. Jones, Junior Jones, Jason Doles, Scott Reid, Jamie Thompson and Phillip Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be Joel Henrico, Brian Bush, Russ Craig, Zachary Hancock and Bud Jones. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 29, 2007 from 5 PM until 9 PM at Golden Funeral Home.
