Funeral services for Mr. Charles Wayne "George" Brantley, age 50, are scheduled for 11 A. M. Wednesday January 18, 2012 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Sanders officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Memorial Cemetery. Family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 P.M. until 9 P.M. at Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. Brantley, a resident of Bastrop and owner of Brantley used cars, passed on Sunday January 15, 2012. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gambling, was an avid gun collector, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Dessa Brantley; his mother, Dorothy Atkinson of Bastrop; daughter, Cassandra Brantley Barnes & husband Adrian of Bastrop; step-daughter, Cayce McMillan of Bastrop; son, Charles Arthur Brantley & wife Emily of Bastrop, LA; step-son, Wade McMillan of Bastrop; grandchildren, Carrigan Brantley & Lillian Grace Barnes; good friends, Robert Anderson of Rover, AR, William Brewer of Epps, LA, and Dewey Brown of Bastrop, LA.
Mr. Brantley is preceded in death by his father Charles Arthur Brantley.
Serving as pallbearers will be, William Brewer, Dewey Brown, Greg Felts, Charles Brantley, Earl Bell, Roy Kendall, Adrian Barnes, and Joey Kendall.
