Obituary of Garland Roberts

Funeral services for Mr. Garland Lawrance Roberts, 54, of Bastrop are scheduled for 2 PM Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Allan Eppinette officiating. Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Roberts, an operator on the # 2 paper machine at International Paper Company for 33 years and member of Harmony Baptist Church, passed away Saturday, August 18, 2007. He is preceded in death by his father, Darrell Roberts. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Roberts; mother, Lucille Roberts of Bastrop, LA; daughter, Melanie Roberts of Start, LA; step-daughter, Crystal Barnett of Bastrop, LA; three sons, Christopher Roberts and wife Crystal, Jake Roberts and Sam Roberts, all of Bastrop, LA; three step-sons, Brian Griffis and wife Sue of Bastrop, LA, Kyle Griffis of Crossett, AR, Donald Miller of Ohio; brother, Phil Roberts of Bastrop, LA; four grandchildren, Dalton Roberts, Ashton Roberts, Reanna Roberts, Callie Roberts; four step-grandchildren, Destiny White, Brandon White, Cheyenne Smith and Savannah Griffis; many cousins, special friends, Eugene Herlong, Craig Evans, Tom Carter and Ed Halterman and special thanks to first cousin and friend, Tina Harper. Pallbearers will be Bobby Stokes, Kerry Ritzell, Bob Ritzell, Randy Fortner, Jerry White and Oscar White. Honorary pallbearers will be Eugene Herlong, Ben White and Craig Evans. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 21, 2007 from 6 PM until 9 PM at Harmony Baptist Church.
